Ideally, the holidays are meant to bring cheer, joy, a feeling of belonging and love to all who celebrate them. Your ability to nurture and protect your energy is directly related to how much of the latter you experience.
If you are not careful, the holiday season will pull you into a whirlwind of endless activity and time-consuming events. Ultimately, you may find yourself mentally, emotionally and physically drained.
You have a life force energy that flows to you and is specifically for you. If you don’t nurture and protect your energy, you can’t experience optimal health and you will inevitably manifest some form of sickness and dis-ease.
The holiday season can be overwhelming and demanding! This year you can move through them with ease and grace by using the tips below…
Prioritize What People, Places and Events You Are Willing to Give Your Energy to
Create your own holiday season…according to your own desires, instead of falling into the plans and intentions of everyone else’s desires.
Make yourself your number one priority!!! It’s ok to put you first and when you do everything and everyone else must take place in line. Decide how you want to experience your holiday season. Set a few priorities and focus mainly on those.
Don’t allow yourself to get spread too thin from the many requests and expectations that will come from others. This means you will need to set a holiday schedule that is most enjoyable for you and allows you to maintain your sanity at the same time.
Manage Your Expectations
It is often said that expectations are the greatest killer of your joy. Nurture and protect your energy by having little to no expectations of anyone or anything.
This may sound far-fetched, but this holiday practice will serve you greatly by helping you to maintain your peace. Let things happen and flow as they may.
If someone fails to keep a promise or to show up, it’s ok, just move on to the next thing on your list.
Give Yourself Permission to Be Enough
Let your love and your presence (not presents) be enough. Don’t over-spend and over-give just to make others happy. Doing so will place too much unnecessary stress on your heart and mind.
Let your love and your compassion flow from your beingness. Everything else is just a bonus and you get to decide how much more you are willing to give.
Breathe and Breathe Deeply
When it comes to managing your lifeforce energy, breathing deeply is one the most overlooked practices. Deep breathing not only allows large increases of oxygen in your body, it also allows your muscles to relax and stress to release.
Set 5-10 min time slots in your daily holiday schedule for deep breathing 1-2 times per day. Also, stop and use on an as needed basis. Make sure you are sitting or standing up straight and tall with your shoulders rolled back, then close your eyes and breathe in slowly through your nose to a count of 4.
Finally, exhale through your mouth to a count of 4. If this doesn’t release tension, your body may be telling you that it is time to pause and step back. Don’t be afraid to make amendments to your schedule in order to protect your energy and be unapologetic about it!
The holidays can be tough and you can get through them with your health and peace of mind in place by nurturing and protecting your lifeforce energy.
Use the tips above to equip yourself and be proactive. When in doubt about any personal engagement or event, ask yourself these 2 questions; 1. Does it bring me joy? 2. Am I willing? Use your intuition to let these questions guide you and protect your energy as much as possible.
Wishing you the best and happiest of holidays!!!
